strawberry festival and honoring Kyler

Last month we went to my dad's to celebrate my step sister's son's birthday. The kids had a great time.
June 4, the Lebanon strawberry festival kiddie parade:

The carnival:

June 5, the actual parade:

The world's largest strawberry shortcake, it fed 16,000!
The theme was 'the stone age'.
This was just sad. Look at how giant this tree once was...

The miniature horses are SO cute!

Lexi was the only kid to get a balloon, which immediately popped, ha ha.

The carnival. Jared and the kids had a WONDERFUL time. We were there for 10 1/2 hours. My pregnant feet were killing and super swollen. We only took 1 short break to sit, it was rough, but well worth it to witness their smiles and laughter all day.

Today: Kyler's teacher called us and said she would be honoring him at an assembly this morning, but he had no idea. He received a citizen of the year award, which only 2 students in each class of 25 kids received. It's for being a respectful, helpful, hard working, intelligent, kind and positive student. Words cannot express the level of pride I feel. He is so outstanding and I am lucky to be his mother. As we were leaving, the crossing guard approached us and said "I want to congratulate and thank you for raising such a polite, respectful son. Everyday he wishes me a good morning/afternoon and thanks me. He makes my day!" Kyler was so humble, didn't even realize the magnitude of his accomplishment. We are so proud of him.
