our first series of visitors

My brother and his family arrived Thursday morning. Despite their exhaustion, they agreed to go to the coast with us. It was in the 90's that day (for Oregon, that kind of heat calls for a heat advisory!) but 70 degrees on the coast. It was a beautiful day.
Friday Jared flew back to Utah to pick up the Civic and drive it back on Saturday. So needless to say, he was pretty tired for the holiday. We still have fun regardless.
It's been nice to have visitors, makes it feel more like home to have loved ones around. Kyler announced to me, that it does feel like home now. Tomorrow we're heading to camp on the beach, one of our favorite things.
Oh, and our pumpkin plants are thriving! The kids and I planted them from seeds I had scraped from our pumpkin last year and bagged, and now there are around 15 plants growing! We're so excited. Kyler, being the money minded kid he is, wants to sell them. Nerd!
Hope everyone had a great holiday! Today is my brother, Joey's birthday...wish he was here! Hope he has a great day regardless, he deserves it...he's an amazing person and we all love and miss him dearly!

Thursday, at home:
Kyler was reading a book on Ocean facts to Orion and Lexi
we FINALLY hung our photos and artwork, feels more like home now!
