Kyler's school had a "back to school" day where you get to meet your teacher, tour the school, set up your desk and then later in the evening attend a BBQ. It was a great way to get familiar with the new surroundings for the students as well as us parents. His teacher, Mrs. Taylor, is everything we could have hoped for in a teacher.
He picked all of his clothes himself this year and has each outfit picked out for the week, this is what he wore for back to school day:
Sept 1st:Today was the first day of 2nd grade. He has been so anxious and excited! He walked into that school with his head held high and as fearless as can be. I am so proud! I would've been nervous; starting a new school in a new state ALL ALONE! But not him, he did great-smiled all the way in. I'm missing him already.
Again, he dressed himself. He's so handsome!
Haha, yesterday I wrapped 3 of Lexi's birthday gifts and she wanted to take a picture next to the biggest one. I guess she didn't want to miss out of the photo action!

I am so amazed at how confident he is. He said he's excited to learn new things and make new friends. He is a unique boy and we are so lucky to have him.
It's going to be quite the adjustment for Lexi to have him gone all day. I need to find ways to keep her entertained. We will start our "school time" again this year. Also, we're debating putting her in a dance class and we'll be taking weekly trips to the city library.
Jared returns very late tomorrow-early Thursday from his trip. Then Saturday is Lexi's 5th birthday!! Big week for us.
